Abstract

The research examines how the pressure to maintain high quality standards in the health service generates a competitive environment that impacts time management and the emotional well-being of staff. The general objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between time management and the perception of competitiveness in the work environment of hospital workers. With a quantitative approach and a non-experimental correlational design, data are collected. The sample included 75 internal medicine employees. The results indicate a positive relationship between a competitive work environment and the ability to manage time, although excessive competitiveness can lead to emotional exhaustion and decrease performance effectiveness. In conclusion, while competitiveness can encourage organization and efficiency, it is also essential to balance it to avoid adverse effects on employee well-being.
